For two decades, sustainable has been a buzz word, as part of the “green” travel’s lexicon. The Oxford English dictionary defines ecotourism as: organized vacations that are designed so that the tourists damage the environment as little as possible, especially when some of the money they pay is used to protect the local environment and animals.
Currently, there is no international certificate of standardized requirements for ecotourism, but over the years I have worked with travel industry partners that are trying to reduce their global footprint through the stewardship of their surroundings, in partnership with indigenous communities. Ecuador and Botswana are perfect examples of responsible ecotourism, but there are numerous others to consider worldwide. Contact me: I’m excited to transform your dream trip into a reality.
